Can I get a custom plush?
If you are looking for a bulk order, then yes! October Copper does plush design and manufacturing on commission. You can find out more about that on our custom plush site.
If you want a single custom plush that is not a service we currently offer. Please give the many wonderful artisans who make custom plush a look, and best of luck in your search! Just don't use what I charge for apples to complain about their quote for oranges ok?
Why are your plush so expensive? I'd buy your stuff in a second if it wasn't so much!
Many reasons! We usually order in very small runs. Price breaks come with bulk orders, but we are too small to make big box store orders and wouldn't want to anyway. We also have complex, often large designs that are material heavy and labor intensive, and we make sure to work with manufacturers paying their employees a comfortable wage at all steps of the supply line. There's also additional costs in the form of packing materials, taxes, tariffs, shipping, safety testing, stuffing, tag making, final labor, storage, and more. Some of those are continual even after we have the plush in hand.
Lowest possible cost = overproduction and exploitation of someone somewhere along the line. We sell them at the lowest cost we can while still doing right by everyone involved, and we work hard to make our plush worth it to enthusiasts. If the price isn't something you are willing to pay that simply means we are not the company for you, not that our plush are overpriced.
Is Lairbrew eco-friendly?
We work to make the smallest footprint we can afford, and we are always working to improve. We use recycled materials instead of virgin when possible, and we try to aim for home composable packaging wherever we can. If something can only be recycled and not composted we aim for ones that can be handled by the majority of public recycling programs. We also try to get things with recycling reminders clearly visible so the burden of knowing what to do with it is not put on anyone else. For us a truly eco-friendly package is one that doesn't become an additional chore for the end consumer to increase the chances of it actually being disposed of properly.
Sadly we aren't 100% there yet, as eco-friendly choices are often either too expensive for a business our size, too water permeable for our goods, too weak to insure a shipment makes it instead of resulting in a plush ending up in a landfill instead of a package, and for fiber toys there are specific laws in place in our country that currently have disagreements on a state level. We're always doing what we can to improve though! If you have particular requests for information on materials you received please contact me! I am also always open to suggestions.
What allergens are possibly at Lairbrew?
We have a few animals. Our home is shared with a cat and some chickens. Feathers and fur can drift around and our pets are family who spend time with us as we work sometimes, so some allergens may be present! Please know they are not allowed to directly touch or interact with our packaging or products.
Our plush are primarily polyester (fabric, stuffing,) and nylon (thread.) If you are sensitive to polyester you will want to avoid our plush. Materials made with fully cured resin are sometimes included in packaging and can be excluded on request. Plush deodorizers or scent sachets have fragrances added, but the ingredients vary for each scent. Contact us if you have concerns!
I have a shop interested in your products! Can I carry them? Could you make some just for me?
We do not do wholesale or consignment at this time, but this may change in the future. If you are after something bespoke please check out our custom plush site. We look forward to working with you!
When and where do you ship?
Shipments are picked up at our address, and thus go out on Tuesday - Saturday. Orders placed before 3pm central on a weekday often ship next day. See item details for estimated arrival times. We ship everywhere except for the EU. Shipping to some countries may be delayed or suspended due to conflicts preventing postal service, such as strikes or war time. Check the Shipping News page to know current going-ons that I'm aware of! I may not be up to date on global news affecting shipping to your area but I do my best to keep track.
What about customs and import taxes?
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. Lairbrew is not responsible for delays, destroyed shipments, returned shipments, etc.
Can I exchange my shipped non-apparel?
Due to the nature of our product exchanges of shipped non-apparel products are not accepted. We need to know all the allergen and chemical exposures they could have received, and they can't be laundered in the same easy manner as clothing. People cuddle these things and sleep with them in their bed, so I have to be ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE I am sending them something safe!
If your item hasn't shipped yet you can contact us to request changing it, but there are no guarantees this request can be fulfilled once an order has been finalized. I always do my best, but if you have received a tracking notification there is a chance it is too late!
Can I cancel my order?
Cancellations of finalized orders for items that are ready to ship are not accepted. Please read item descriptions and titles, check the shipping news page, double check your cart, and only check out when you are certain of your order. Pre-orders are not charged until the item is ready to ship so they can be cancelled on request until the plush arrive to begin fulfillment. Once fulfillment begins cancellations are no longer accepted.
