Special Order Plush and Sponsorable Designs

Plush that are only available via Special Order are made-to-order with no customizations. These plush are either not going to be mass produced or are retired designs.

The Special Order Process:

On the 1st of each month, I take all the plush special ordered for the previous month and submit them for manufacturing!
These plush are then small-batch manufactured. Because small batches have lower priority, they may take more than a month to produce, but should take less than 3.
Plush are then shipped to me for quality checking! Depending on the number of plush ordered that month it should be about 2 weeks, but could be up to 6.
Quality checking happens! Since an exact number is ordered, any plush that fail this quality check will need to be remade. A-grade plush are sent out in order of the first orders placed, and anyone else will be notified of the issue.
All plush that pass quality inspection will be packed up and shipped out!

Consider it like signing up for a pre-order! These do not ship quickly, you will have to wait some time.

Some things to note:

If you want customizations you will want to order a custom plush, not a special order plush. Special order plush can be customized at the cost of a regular custom.
If you order other items with your special order plush, these will be held back until your special order plush is ready to ship! Please place a separate order if you want to get the other items faster.
If you do not see a plush you know I've designed in the special order category it is because it was a custom OC, or the original commissioner denied permission.
Large designs will ship unstuffed. Make sure you check the product listing!

Special Order and Sponsorable Designs are two separate processes! The wait is longer for sponsorable designs because the prototyping process has not been completed. Shipping is typically much quicker though.

The Sponsorable Design Process:

When a design is sponsored, it is sent to the manufacturer the following business day. No waiting for the first!
The plush is prototyped. Unlike a custom, I work with the manufacturer autonomously. Plush prototyping can take as little as 1 month or as many as 6, depending on the size and complexity. Eventually the design is complete!
The prototype ships to me for quality control! If there is a problem it must be remade, which takes a second to do since it isn't super high priority for the manufacturer. Failed prototypes are an extremely rare occurence.
I photograph the plush before shipping! These photos are necessary for the upcoming special order listing, and I have to take them before I send the final copy to you. There are occassionally delays for weather, but this is typically done the day it arrives for QC!
You receive the plush! The copy you receive is the final prototype!
The plush becomes available to everyone as a Special Order design! Now anyone who wants that plush can place a special order to receive one.

Some things to note:

Sponsoring a design does not mean you get to customize it! The design you sponsor is the one that will be made. If you want to customize the design you need to get a custom plush.
There may be changes between the art and the final product. Certain things may come up during the prototyping process that needs a change. The most common changes include color or the removal of overly-intricate details.
If you order other items with your sponsored design, they will be held back until your whole order is ready to ship. Please place multiple orders if you want separate ship dates!
If sponsoring a new size of an existing prototype, you can expect for it to be much faster!
Sponsoring a design gives me $0 in profit! In fact it doesn't even cover the entire prototyping cost. I'm passionate about the designs I make available and am willing to take a hit to the pocket to make them available.
Sponsorable designs come stuffed! Many are of a size where they will ship unstuffed normally, but yours will arrive stuffed.
If you have a request for a sponsorable design, feel free to submit a request. There is absolutely no guarantee I will do it (and I very likely won't,) but if I receive enough requests for the same thing I will want to help folks get what they're after!

What about plush that start as customs and become special order?

Custom plush designs are only made available if they meet the following criteria:

They are not a specific OC owned by a third party.
They are a generic representation of a species, or an original design from Lairbrew.
The commissioner has given permission for the design to be sold.
